Teeth Whitening
at Dentalcare West SwindonA smile makeover with Teeth Whitening
Professional teeth whitening is a popular cosmetic dental treatment which can quickly and painlessly brighten and whiten your teeth to improve the appearance of your teeth. It’s an easy way to boost your confidence and give yourself a brand-new look.
Teeth whitening in West Swindon
At Dentalcare West Swindon, we recommend that you only get your teeth whitened professionally as over the counter and online products can be risky to the health of your teeth.
We offer two ways to whiten teeth. Both are overseen by our professional team, both methods are completely safe, and both will give you brilliant results!
Teeth whitening at home
We take impressions of your teeth and make you bespoke teeth whitening trays which you wear over your teeth for a certain amount of time at home. We use two brands for this type of treatment – Boutique whitening and Pola whitening.
Boutique teeth whitening
Once we have made your whitening trays, you will be instructed by our professional cosmetic dentists on how often you wear the trays. They will also prescribe you a whitening gel which you put into your trays before wearing them.
Boutique by Day gives you fast results and will only need to be worn for 1 to 2 hours a day.
Boutique by Night is a slower process and needs to be worn for longer – often overnight. The whitening gel contains carbamide which is much gentler and works more gradually. This is a good option to consider if you have sensitive teeth.
Philips Zoom! Teeth whitening
If you have badly discoloured teeth or you have sensitive teeth, Zoom! Teeth whitening is a good option for you. Treatment is effective but gentle. More patients report less or no sensitivity when having this method of teeth whitening. A professional expert is on hand with you at all times so this method of teeth whitening is safe and offers you stunning results.
Poladay and Polanight teeth whitening
Poladay teeth whitening treatment uses hydrogen peroxide and works quickly so that you only need to wear your trays for about 30 minutes during the day.
Polanight uses a slower acting chemical which means teeth whitening is more gradual and gentler. This treatment is usually carried out overnight.

Frequently asked questions about Teeth Whitening
Do teeth whitening treatments damage the enamel on teeth?
No, professional teeth whitening will not harm the enamel on your teeth. We always recommend that you have your teeth whitened professionally as kits bought online and in shops may not offer this guarantee.
Can I use teeth whitening on a crown?
Teeth whitening works only on tooth enamel. It will not change the colour of other materials used in veneers, fillings, crowns or bridges. Your crown will probably have been colour-matched to the natural colour of your teeth, so this will stand out if you have your teeth whitened. You should speak to one of our dentists about this and they will advise you. It may mean your existing crown or restoration will need to be replaced.
How long will my teeth whitening treatment last?
Each patient is different and the type of treatment that you have can vary the result. Teeth whitening can last up to 3 years, but you may notice that you need a top up of treatment after 6 months. You can help to prolong the effects of teeth whitening by cutting out smoking and reducing the food and drinks which cause teeth to stain.
